The Texas Prison Museum shall collect, preserve and showcase the history and the culture of the Texas Prison System and educate the people of Texas and the world.

David Stacks is the director of the Prison Museum. David spent 30 years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) beginning his career as a correctional officer at the Byrd Unit and retiring as the Deputy Director of the prison system

Suzette is the office manager and the person to contact for the use of our conference room or setting up a group tour.

Riley is the gift shop supervisor and retired with 26 years’ prison system experience. While with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Riley supervised and managed the business operations of every prison unit commissary within the TDCJ.

Jim Willett - Researcher

Jim is a retired Warden with 30 years from the TDCJ prison system and serves as the museum contributing researcher and TDCJ prison system expert. He has authored a book of his experiences with the state prison system titled “Warden.”

Joni White - Curator

Joni White serves as the museum’s curator and too is a retiree of the TDCJ prison system having served as director of the Inmate Classification Department. Joni served the prison system for 25 years.

Henry - Gift Shop

Henry is a retiree of the TDCJ prison system having served 39 years with the agency and is quite knowledgeable on Texas Prison System history.
