The Texas Prison Museum offers an intriguing glimpse into the lives of the state's imprisoned citizens. The museum features numerous exhibits detailing the history of the Texas prison system, featuring a look inside the operations behind the fences and walls.

Gun Raffle of the Year
The Texas Prison Museum (TPM) is a 501 (c) 3 Non-Profit Org, whose mission is to educate the public about the history of the Texas Prison System from its commission date of 1848 to present. The museum is not part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and therefore, is not supported by public tax funds of the State of Texas to include the Texas Department of Corrections.

The museum's livelihood, as a non-profit organization, utilizes monies absorbed through the below means:
​
a. Admission fees,
b. Merchandize sales,
c. Donation contributions and,
d. Two yearly fund raisers.
​
This is to provide information to the reader about one of the TPM yearly fundraiser, the TPM Gun Raffle, hereafter referred to as (raffle.)
​
This paper is intended to inform the reader how to purchase a raffle ticket for the year 2024 - 2025, the rules that govern the raffle and how to take legal ownership of the prize won.
​
Again, the monies raised through this fund raiser will be applied to the TPM's operation mission.
​
Rules of the raffle are:
​
a. Tickets are $100.00 per ticket. There will be no limit on the number of tickets a person may purchase.
b. There will be twelve (12) draw (12 opportunities on a purchase of a ticket to win) for the raffle year November 2024 through
October 2025.
c. There will be a maximum of 750 raffle tickets available for purchase for this raffle.
d. The raffle tickets will only be available for purchase between the dates of August 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024.
e. Regardless of the number of tickets sold during that window of opportunity, no raffle tickets will be sold after October 31,
2024.
f. A person wishing to purchase a raffle ticket may do so by purchasing such at the Texas Prison Museum at the address
below in the gift shop, by purchasing from any TPM Board Member, Able's Sporting, Inc. or Huntsville
Walker County Ace Hardware at the addresses listed below. Persons who, due to distant logistic issues may call the
Director of the museum, David Stacks, at (936) 295-2155.
g. The purchaser of the raffle ticket must print legibly the following contact information.

h. Prison Museum Board Members and TPM employees are not able to purchase a raffle ticket.
i. A drawing will be performed on the date listed below. The drawings will be held at the Texas Prison Museum at 12:00 noon
and the public are welcome to attend. Only for unforeseen circumstances will the drawing be rescheduled.
j. The drawing will be made from a rotating a rotating containment drum by a non-TPM board member or employee, on a
rotating basis.
k. The purchaser of the winning ticket will be contacted by the Director of the TPM through the information provided on the
winning raffle ticket.
l. The TPM Director will notify raffle purchasers at large via group email informing them of the winner, providing the winners
first name, beginning alpha character of the last name. No other personal information regarding the winner will be given.
m. The TPM Director will ensure the winning raffle ticket is returned to the rotating drawing containment drum where the
winner will again have another opportunity to win again during the remaining raffle year draws.
n. Between drawing periods, the TPM Director will secure the rotating containment drum with a lock so the drum cannot be
tampered between the subsequent draws.
o. The Director of the TPM will make known to the contact employee at Able's Sporting, Inc. who the winner of each
month's drawing. The weapons purchased for this raffle have been purchased from Able's Sporting, Inc. in Huntsville,
Texas.
p. It will be the responsibility of the purchaser of the winning ticket to contact Able's Sporting, Inc.'s point of contact to comply
and complete all federal and state regulations pertaining to gun registration and background checks. ​
